TM M9 Tactical master safety catch

Anyone have any idea what has gone wrong with my safety catch? I bought the pistol off the forums here, and i knew the safety was broken, but I was wondering if anyone knows how to fix it. The safety can spin a full 360 degrees, and does put safety on. Both sides of the safety are still attached, but have no affect. If i turn the safety past 90o I can pull the trigger and the hammer will continue to move, but if I leave it facing downwards the gun only does a single hammer pull before i have to cock it. I'm not sure how this affects actual shooting as I am waiting for new gas to arrive, but any help would be good. I would like to have a working safety catch. Thanks!

Try taking it apart and fitting it all again. Might help.

Already done that, didn't work. There is a screw under the safety on the inside of the top slide, un-did that but it did nothing.
