Trigger problem with TM Hi Capa (sear?)
9 January, 2015, 22:04
Hi all,
I have a problem with my hi Capa. Sometimes the trigger doesn't release the hammer on its first pull. It just clicks, but then always releases it on the second. I guess it's probably something to do with the sear, though I'm not sure..? And it does it intermittently - sometimes it doesn't do it at all. Sometimes it does. It makes no difference whether it's gassed or not - it's still the same.
I've filmed the problem here:
http://youtu.be/jafo_hy4B84
- if you have any thoughts or ideas, I'd be very grateful.
Thanks
Ian

Video definitely helpful - I wish more people would do that!
I had the same problem with mine after fitting a new hammer. I can't definitively say what the problem with mine was, but after a strip and refit (i.e of the hammer, sear and disconnect bar) everything was fine. I also made sure that the trigger was in the fully forward position when replacing the grip...
Worth a try if only to check the state of the sear...

It's definitely the sear. The arm on the right needs to be bent a bit more. I can't for the life of me remember which way though!

Did this problem arise after fitting a new grip?

Hi all - all sorted - found a video on YouTube by knucklesGSM who suggested bending the right prong 'inwards' - towards the trigger. Worked a treat...
