1911 Mag not holding gas
26 February, 2015, 09:59
This is a recent problem that has occured with a gas mag of mine. I found the problem after attempting filling the mag and instantly get a short, sharp, silicon oil shock to the crotch (as i was sitting).
Basically when you fill the mag the gas it doesn't retain it and empties.
Has anyone experienced this problem, if so can you share the solution?
Cheers

The lip, I'm not sure if the top valve is too far out or not

Re: 1911 Mag not holding gas
First try screwing it in, then back off half a turn. If that fails try the below.
Ok unscrew the release valve, at the back near the top. Remove it carefully.
Check the o-rings are intact - This will be apparent when you remove the valve
Smear a dab of silicone grease or oil if you dont have any around the o-rings
Screw back in fully until tight then back off about 1/2 a turn
Should solve it. If not remove the valve again and soak the valve in silicone oil over night. Repeat the above.
