p226 cylinder and piston problem

i have a kjw p226 and i've been sorting out a problem with the piston and cylinder, which all went fine. Now i'm trying to put it back together i've run into a problem, the cylinder return spring and spring guide fit into the hole in the cylinder, but when i put in the piston the spring stops it going in as it just folds and gets in the way. The spring is part 9 and pring guide part 8 in pic.
