WE M4 CQB to M4A1
26 April, 2016, 13:38
I think I'm going to be getting myself a WE M4 GBB soon, but I can't decide between the CQB or the M4A1 RIS version. So I'm thinking about getting the CQB and an outer barrel extension kit with the longer inner barrel so that I can chop and change when I feel like it. This seems like a fairly simple solution and an easy fix. Is there anything I've not cosidered or is it as simple as it sounds?
The only stupid question is one that was never asked.

Re: WE M4 CQB to M4A1
It is exactly as simple as you've made it sound.
Unless things have changed, the full length WE M4 is just a CQB length outer barrel with a barrel extension. The outer barrel is glued on and does take some effort to unscrew it, but should be able to come off. At least on most of my WE M4s/ 416s it did. I've only ever seen 1x 416 with the barrel extension proper stuck on...and I managed to snap the barrel whilst trying to get the extension off....so just be gentle!
Hope this helps

Thanks mate, I thought it might be. I've been able to get the barrel off my 416 so I thought there wouldn't be any issues.
