KSC Auto 9 issues
3 September, 2016, 19:48
Hi All
New the forum and airsofts...
Picked up a KSC Auto-9 the other day - basically a dressed up M93R. It was fine the first day i had it, next couple of days I'm getting the following issues:
Magazine going through a lot of gas - maybe 1 fill per 25 rounds - is this normal?
When the gas is getting low, it doesn't cycle correctly - the slide stops about 3-4mm away from it's forward position and lets out the remaining gas.
The 3 round burst mode doesn't seem to work, it goes to fully auto - semi-auto is fine though.
The safety switch doesn't engage unless the gun is cocked.
Any ideas on the above? I'm quite handy and would rather try to fix this myself rather than send it back to the vendor as they're a bit hard work.
Cheers
Andy

Re: KSC Auto 9 issues
I had one of these. I don't think they have a 3 round burst on the auto 9 it's just semi and full auto. Gas consumption are you sure your filling mag full. A quick way to get some good fill of the mag is to put some gas in then press gas release valve to let all the gas out in one go to chill the mag. Then refill mag. Basically colder the mag is the more gas you get in it. Let in warm up to room temp and see how many shots you get then.
Full auto will rapidly cool the mag and the 3 to 4am of slide movement and venting is normal behaviour when gas is low and mag is cold.
Safety ..yes will only engage when cocked on this model

Thanks for the reply and putting my mind at rest on a couple of things!
Yeah, says 3 round burst, full auto and semi auto...
I'm pretty sure i'm gassing the mag correctly though - what's a rough estimate of rounds to gas?

Re: KSC Auto 9 issues
Ahh OK I have heard that the 3rd burst can fail..if you Google it you should find why it occurs and how to fix it.
Can't remember on number of shots I sold mine a long time ago!. What gas you using? I would expect to get a full mag and a bit if your using green gas. Try my mag tip and see how many shots you get. Other method is put mag in freezer for 30 mins then fill it. Basically if the mag is warm the gas vaporises in the mag quicker rather than staying in liquid form ( imagine plastic gas lighter there is liquid in it) this reduces the amount of liquid you get in. TM pistols don't suffer as much as their fill valves allow vapourised gas to escape whilst filling to ensure you get a good fill

Re: KSC Auto 9 issues
Give it a good fill and getting around 25 shots on the first mag, then nothing apart from venting on the following mags - the mag is freezing due to venting.
Bit weird...

Re: KSC Auto 9 issues
You should defo be getting a full mag (38rds) before running out of gas. Sounds like it's chewing through too much gas per shot. Lots of reasons for this but easiest checks are that magazine rubber at top is still supple. Then more complicated take the blowback unit apart in the slide and check over the nozzle for cracks. Check the flute valve moves freely and check the piston rubber oring is in good condition. Can't really offer anymore help good luck with it!

OK, for anyone interested I'm all sorted. It seems kickassgas isn't very kick ass. I got a bottle of asg ultrair and everything's perfect. Getting about 50-60 rounds per fill of gas and it's cycling perfectly! 😀
