Gas Mag O ring help please.
3 August, 2010, 20:55
Does anyone know somewhere to buy the tiny o rings fitted to gas mag valves?
I'm looking for a selection of sizes really, and in a reasonable quantity.
I know some retailers stock 'em and sell them singly or in packs of two, but the prices are usually ridiculous for what you're buying.
I've bought several multipacks from muppetbay but none of them are quite right, too thick usually.
Anyone found a sensible source?
Cheers.

If it's the ring on the outside of the mag, the ring from a refillable lighter should do the trick.

Re: Gas Mag O ring help please.
If you want a silent fill valve, without the hassle of gutting lighters every month, there's another way. Instead of putting an o-ring on the valve, put some heat shrink on the nozzle of the can. Obviously don't want you wafting a lighter underneath a full can of propane. So before you put the heat shrink on, preshrink it, onto a screwdriver shaft, or other random tube which matches the size of the nozzle. Then take it off, and just push it over the nozzle on your gas can.
DO NOT EXPOSE YOUR CAN OF HIGHLY FLAMABLE AIRSOFT PROPELLANT TO A LIGHTERS FLAME, OR THE HEAT OF A HAIR DRYER!
Think that should cover me of any legal responsibility. Be sensible people.
