different types of gas

i just got a new gas pistol which previously used propane. would it be ok to now use green gas in it or should you stick to one type?

be aware if the gun is green gas compatible, some plastic slides and recoil springs cant take it.
also, be aware you may have a few problems due to the weather, its the price you have to pay with most gas guns at this time of year.
