Can a tm m9 mag cycle a full metal slide?
23 November, 2010, 21:11
Hi there pretty simple problem I got here, bought myself a tm m9 gas mag as a mate broke my KJW one, stupidly forgetting that my KJW m9 is full metal and the TM ones arnt. My question is, is there anyway of making the tm mag work properly?
Thanks

Re: Can a tm m9 mag cycle a full metal slide?
they should cycle it mate
depending on so many variable's
one is gas using = use green gas for metal slides
make sure the mag warm = keep in your warmest pocket
weather= outside frosty, warm inside . etc etc

Re: Can a tm m9 mag cycle a full metal slide?
any chance the mag could be a lemon?
im using green gas, testing inside and it can BARELY cycle the slide, with 5 pulls of the trigger its out of gas!
cheers

Re: Can a tm m9 mag cycle a full metal slide?
I remember there was some compatibility issues between TM m9 mags and HFC M9s. Can't remember the cause though. I'd suggest the mag is probably not faulty, but the fact that it's TM and not KJ, means it's not interacting properly with the hammer mech of the KJ gun. It could take some time to find the cause, even if you know what you're looking at. Because it's hard to see how the mag interacts with the hammer when you can't see what's inside the gun. If you have a KJ mag to compare it too, maybe you could have a look at them side by side. Check the gas lip and the length of the valves sticking out the back.

Re: Can a tm m9 mag cycle a full metal slide?
thanks dope on a rope, will have a (very) close inspection of the two side by side to try and see any tiny differences. i know absolutely nothing about gas gun internals/parts but would fitting a high flow valve make any difference?
and montesa why did you ask the mods to delete? pretty sure it isnt your thread
cheers

Re: Can a tm m9 mag cycle a full metal slide?
I don't know if high flow valves would necessarily make any difference. If your KJW mag is broken somewhere apart from the valve, you might want to swap them over. Have a look a them while they're out as well. Might find the KJW is high flow, and the TM one isn't, and that's exactly what's causing the problem (I kinda doubt it, but it might be).
One of the things I'd compared between the WE 1911 and TM 1911, is the amount the valve sticks out. The WE 1911 valve is actually the same as a TM hi-capa valve, and longer than the TM 1911 valve. My first though is this could be similar in your case. It wouldn't explain the poor efficiency though. Maybe try swapping the rubber gas rout lips over as well while you're there? Or are the mags seated differently. Does the TM mag drop a little out the bottom of the pistol grip?

Re: Can a tm m9 mag cycle a full metal slide?
just checked closely, the mags are identical to the eye, seating in the well is the same, lip height the same, absolutely everything the same.
just filled up the 'leaking' mag with green gas, waited 20 minutes and it fired 74 times which isnt too shaby i think haha maybe im overeacting a bit
cheers
