G&P WOC Overhopping on .3's
16 June, 2009, 18:15
Hi there, my G&P WOC is sending the bb's straight up from the moment they leave the barrel. This is using abbey ultra gas and goldenball .3 bb's and ive tried the hop up fully both ways.
It comes back down to barrel level at around 50-60 meters but i need the bb flight straight constantly then fall down as the hop-up wears off as thats the way i like it.
Any suggestions as i dont know what i can do.
Cheers

have you checked the hop rubber itself as if there is a tiny pin hole or split in it it is time to replace it

Possibly something like the spacer tilted sideways. I've seen that happen on AEGs.

Forgive my ignorance but what do you mean by spacer?

Opened it up and the hop-rubber is perfect, although i did notice that it looks like this when the hop-is fully off, any ideas?

Do you store it with the hop on?
If so, you've probably distorted the rubber permanently.

I do store it with the hop-on but i only got it on friday, anyway just re-assembled the hop, it still looks like the pic but the bb's are now going perfectly flat just as i like with the hop-turned off, strange but there you go.
Firing nice and accurate now

I've stored every gun I've ever had with the hop on. It's possible this is just a thick set hop nub on the sleeve. I've seen it on clone rubbers. Replace it is the best bet. Or wait for it to wear in. Would require you fire a great many rounds through it though, if you wanted to break it in properly. You're looking at 5 can's of gas... I'd buy a hop rubber instead.
Edit: And I completely failed to read your post. Just the one above it. If it works, leave it :D

Re: G&P WOC Overhopping on .3's
Hmm, i mean its G&P so i guess if i bought another one of those it'd be the same? Just had a look and i can get a RA-Tech one for $12. Anyway as i say its firing alright now so i'll just wait and see i suppose, it might last a while or it might last 50 rounds.
On a side note i managed to crack the aluminium upper reciever in the process of taking off the delta ring =]. Screwdrivers, delta ring tool and torque do not match lol.
