Thumb rest Glock 17
27 February, 2011, 21:03
Just wondering how I can take the thumb rest off. Wanting to put it into a holster and it wont go in fully without taking it off. However there is a pin that seems to hold it in place however it will not budge, just wondering if there is anyway to take it off at'll?

Sorted thanks. Didn't want to put to much pressure incase it snapped anything. Forgot to ask, running it on propane ok?

You can just prise it off.
Best bet is to mod the holster, I tripped my SERPA down to allow it to fit. Afterall you'll have the pin there still anyway!

Be careful removing that pin btw - it also holds the rear section of the hammer assembly! If you simply remove the pin for good there is nothing to old the internal assembly in (apart from a diddy screw in the top part)
If you wish to get rid of the annoying pin as it sticks out somewhat simply trim it down and pop it back in.
The thumbrest looks cool but I agree - it wont fit in my Safariland either with it installed
