We scar part #027 hardening

has any one got a we scar and tried reinforcing the part that the stock hinge goes on too? (027) am about to upgrade to open bolt with RA tech bolt carrier and I'm preempting this bit to snap so was going to case harden it. Has any one else done something similar ?

Mine broke and looking for a replacement, no idea how your going to harden it unless you replace it completely, it really is made from sea water and mud

You shouldnt have to worry about part 027 unless you plan on using CO2 In it.

The hinge plate itself is a good call though.

TSC do an alloy version of the hinge plate.

yea i've got that coming with the bolt carrier has i thought being made of metal was better. but every 1 else's SCAR seems to snap on the bit the hinge plate goes on 2... might just get 1 fabricated out of steel.
