Anyone tried this?
30 March, 2012, 09:48
I have a masada, I'm thinking of giving it the cqb look with a silencer, but don't want to pay the silly money for shorter barrel.
I'm think of sending my barrel to a metal shop, getting the outer barrel cut down, maybe a lil Cnc done to get tip the correct diameter, then a thread put on.
Has anyone tried this?
Think it will work?
Ideas where could do this?
I'll then keep my full length inner barrel, run it through a silencer?!?

Re: Anyone tried this???
Not a masada owner, but why would you need to shorten your inner barrel? Flash hider off, supeessor on? And if it is a bit long just leave it inside the supressor.

Re: Anyone tried this???
If anything, I'd get some work done on a silencer so you can screw it on back to front. Rather than have the screw thread on the end of the barrel, with the silencer sticking forward from that point, get the other end of the silencer bored out a little so it can slide over the outer barrel and then screw on with it pointing (effectively) backwards.
EDIT:
Either that, or fix a silencer/mock silencer (made from plastic tube) to your existing (or a replacement) flash hider with either grub screws or hot glue. Again, have the silencer going back over the existing outer barrel.

Make sure you can fit the silencer in the for grip or you can't put a battery in ;-)
