  • Rifled Barrel HELP

I'm going to be working on a project in the coming months on a G&G HBA which will be firing at around 330fps. To get the best performance from a barrel in terms of accuracy and grouping at 330fps it was recommended to me to use a rifled barrel instead of a standard 6.01 due to the spin which will be applied and other factors. Do any of you guys have any experience using rifled barrels at around 330fps and is it worth investing in one over a standard 6.01. Lastly where would I go about purchasing a rifled barrel. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

It's not really rifled, but I believe it's the Tanio Kobo Twist barrel you're referring to

      Re: Rifled Barrel HELP

To start with, airsoft barrels do not use rifling in the way RS barrels do. The most famous 'twist' barrel is the Tanio Koba (TK) twist barrel.

The theory is that a vortex of air passing down channels in the barrel along side the BB, 'holds' the BB along the barrel. This stabilises flight, extends range and arguably, improves accuracy (over stock). TK barrels are designed for 1J (328fps approx) so you're on a winner there.

So the difference is that the BB is not being spun along the barrel's axis. The hopup is still doing most of the work for range.

As for where to buy, Zero One.....

TK barrels are not so easy to get hold of and there are other manufacturers making something similar.

Then you're going to have to Google it for yourself, we can't name other retailers
