L129a1 project advise required
13 October, 2012, 20:37
I am looking at putting together a L129 as i've fell in love! Have never really liked any M series weapons but figured i'd expand the collection. I am wondering what is the best 'base gun' to buy to start this project? Ideally looking for a reasonably cheap base (perks of student life -.-) and also if you could list any other bits that would work well on the project too that would be most appreciated.

Re: L129a1 project advise required
Your best starter would be an SR25 - although the main issue your gonna have is finding a monolithic 7.62 upper (monolithic = forward rails are part of upper receiver). I'm sure there are several threads about this in the general projects tech section - they would be your best bet for part advice.
You will need at least the following:
7.62 Pmags
Magpul Grip (MOE i think)
Crane Stock
Shadow Stalkers Airsoft Team

i would say sticking with the g&p lmt, (so 5.56) would give you a much closer replica
