M4 Stock Help
16 December, 2012, 22:09
Hi guys,
I want to keep this short and sweet. Basically, I have an ICS M4 and I cant get the darn stock off the buffer tube! Here is a guy with the same problem. I have tried everything, unscrewing the "pin" , pulling the "pin" , pulling the lever in the opposite direction (so pushing up rather than down or vise versa) Anyone care to lend some advice ?

You should just be able to pull the paddle down (as opposed to pushing it up to adjust the stock) which pulls the pin down further. At the same time pull the whole stock back!

Re: M4 Stock Help
no some SRC have it too, you have to pull it straight down, no angle or anything and actually give it some welly. that failing you have to use plyers as stated. pull it as far as you can then use plyers to take over. SRC/some copy magpul stocks have the same kinda problem, SRC just needs brute force will magpul one i had to use plyers.

You're just not pulling the paddle down enough - you pull down on the side you normally push up to close the stock. It pivots around the pin and pulls it down. I have the exact same gun and it's dead easy to do!

Re: M4 Stock Help
Thanks to all of you lads! In the end you just had to pull it REALLY hard.. I think il get a tech guy to check it out because something must be overtightened. I almost snapped the bloody stock!
Cheers

Re: M4 Stock Help
some guns are like, some 1000grade sandpaper to polish the buffer tube and a needle file to take a few mm of the stock and you should be fine

Re: M4 Stock Help
Yeah, just take a bit of metal off the end of the stock - had to do it when i fitted a magpul ACS stock to my rifle - went a bit too far with a dremel :P
