Tightbore Barrels and Accuracy

Hey guys,

I wondered what happens to your accuracy if you install a tighter barrel? Been reading some conflicting opinions, that's all

Tighter barrel - increase in accuracy, increace in range, about 10-20 fps added.

confliction opinions may be on tightest is better,vs isnt.
espcecialy in the sniping comunity,theres always talks on whats best.
some regard 6.01 as best others say that tighter isnt always better.
for example take the pdi website (they make the BEST barrels in airsoft)
they regard 6.01 as being for power, and the 6.08 for accuracy,and alot of players found the 6.05 to be the best overall(especialy tanaka users)

I put a 6.03 in my MEU instead of a 6.01 on the advice of a Practical Pistol Shooter who has data to support the idea that a 6.01 can Decrease the range of a BB. This is due (apparently) to the BB gripping the inner barrel, in much the same way as a snooker ball with to much backspin will not go as far up the table due to it Gripping the surface to much. It is not something I have tested in the field but I have to say that my unmodified TM M14 shot just as far and almost as accurately as my modded M14 with it's 6.03 and its 350 fps.

Cant comment on the 6.05 stuff but the 6.03 and 6.04 barrels do seem to have the best balance.

Just to add a tight barrel is almost always the first mod I perform on my guns and almost all have them. :D

it is true about the tighter the barrel the less range you get.
its not much, but i did notice that the distance i got a true flat flight on my vsr droped slightly when i added a pdi 6.01

After chatting to Jesus, who did some testing with a PDI 6.01 and he found the first few shots were fine, but because of such a fine tolerance between barrel and BB, a few BBs down the barrel meant it became dirty enough to have an effect on range and accuracy, and had to be cleaned regularly

What Fizzy said. I have a PDI 6.01 in my WE 1911. At my site i play 30 min games. And if i use it i clean it after each game.
