    MP5 & G3 Compatibility

    Hi guys,

    I can't seem to find a definate answer on this ANYWHERE. It's always conflicting, or a thread gets sidetracked.

    Can you take a G3 upper receiver, and front end, and slot an MP5 lower receiver and gearbox into it, and connect the two?

    Not without some pretty special plastic modification; the distance from front pin to back of upper receiver is different (about 5mm shorter on the mp5). Although the gearbox sits in the same spot I think...


    Perspective of photo makes it look bigger but the pin to pin distance is about 5mm different...

      Dang. That ruins my dream of having different length uppers on a single lower then!
