Polished Turds - Old and Busted Guns Given a New Lease of Life
18 April, 2013, 00:18
Here I have my first pistol; a WE 1911 bought for £20 a few years back.

It used to be a rental from my old site so can only presume it's led a hard life. After being neglected for a couple of years while on a break from airsoft I dug it out again to find the mag had been stored with no gas. Presumed the worst for the state of the seals but amazingly the thing still holds gas - no leaks!

Anyhoo, as the thread title suggest I decided to spruce her up. First pic is off the net - forgot to take a before shot but mine was in a much worse state of repair. Bit of wet and dry to give it a nice smooth matte finish on the slide, trigger and grip safety. Drilled the trigger too but did a bit of a crappy job on that.
Sooo: lets see your rescue guns. Please no works of art or pristine examples. Strictly old, and busted guns given a new lease of life.

We 1911 (desert warrior). I was given it for free
(Earliest pic i have.) the slide was also covered in the green enamel paint.
It wasnt cycling correctly and generally fubar.
So i filed and sanded it down (this paint was horrible)
And then i took the top layer off the lower frame. (I havent got one after id tidied it up fully)
And then sold it for £60. A while later i got it back with a 10" slide he wanted fitted, so with the spares i had laying about i pieced up another pistol.
(Top and right, right is missing hammer in pic)

Re: Polished Turds - Old and Busted Guns Given a New Lease of Life
Plastic bodied AK by Cyma with the Nast plastic wood furniture.
Changed the body to a spare metal one, tweaked and fettled.
Looks war torn and beaten up.
From a bag of bits and a G&P body bought for 50 quid unused.
Originally a tan army armaments kimber with a knackered hammer.
section 24 of the 1968 Act
Supplying imitation firearms to minors
1)It is an offence for a person under the age of eighteen to purchase an imitation firearm
2)It is an offence to sell an imitation firearm to a person under the age of eighteen.
