TLR1s disassembly
24 April, 2013, 16:23
I'm having a problem disassembling my TLR1s. I'm not sure if I need a specialist tool.

I can't separate these to parts after having the lens broken so I can measure up for a replacement. I had the something happen to my TLR1 but that was simple to take apart and had a replacement in in days.
I've tried penetration fluid and a pair of mole grips but they still won't budge.
Any help appreciated.

Re: TLR1s disassembly
You don't, you simply replace the whole assembly.
Google
Streamlight Face Cap Assembly for TLRs
and you will find exactly what you need

Re: TLR1s disassembly
There should be a black rubber gasket left around the rim of where the glass was inside?
I had the same issue when mine got shot out and couldnt get them apart, for some strange reason once i prised the rubber gasket out with the tip of a scalpel the front bezel unscrewed with no tools required.
YMMV

The gasket is out came out when I pulled the glass out.
Don't really want to replace the whole thing as the replacement will have glass that will smash again so I'd rather replace it with Perspex like I did with my TLR1
