The "Did it Yourself" Tech and Picture thread

Alright
What have you done to save money? Built yourself an ris system? Bodged up a front grip? Whatever youve done cheaply post here!
I have personally made myself a foward removable grip for an M4A1 handguard, using some plywood, two nuts +bolts, a disused CA M4 Pistol grip and some super glue!! Pics to follow

I tried to no more nails a bipod onto an M14.
It did not work.
The M14 was ruined.

Well the no more nails advertised on the pack 'holds up to 3000N!' 300kg if i'm not mistaken.. so i thought it would easily hold that square bipod mount. What the packet didnt mention in big red attractive letter was that you have to dry it at like 180 degrees to get that level of bonding. Mine was in my cold front room in winter.. around 2 degrees as the radiator doesn't work in there! So yeah.. it snapped off.. leaving horrible dried glue all over my M14 stock. And you can't seem to but the black sandstone ones on their own anywhere.. so I had to sell the innards as parts!

Re: The "Did it Yourself" Tech and Picture thread
Few years ago made myself a bipod for my old VSR, found a local model shop bought the supplies and built it.............
First outting I stood back and admired my handy work, until the second I used it........... Yes people it FAILED in epic proportions. So I bought one instead. :D
Oh and as a sidenote, the helmet in my avatar has been customised to fit sordins under if that counts.
section 24 of the 1968 Act
Supplying imitation firearms to minors
1)It is an offence for a person under the age of eighteen to purchase an imitation firearm
2)It is an offence to sell an imitation firearm to a person under the age of eighteen.

Sadly my rail broke immediatly, when i got a gripod i (my friend) lost the butterfly screw thing. Go home and its a tiny nut. So take apart a normal compass and the nut holding the joint fits perfectly !!! Job done
