  • homemade quick fix hop nub

    Hi all
Airsofting tomorrow, and realised my p90 doesn't have a nub in it's hop.... obviously no way to get it before tomorrow from a shop, so ... thinking caps on what can I use as a nub until I can buy a proper one?! (i know this won't be long term / ideal / precise)

I have used balled up paper in an m4 the past but it wasn't ideal ...

my thoughts are.. it has to be solid, (ie not going to deform, so no bluetac or chewie)
ideally it has to be curved to an arc the same as 6mm?

what else do nubs ideally have to have?

thanks in advance you're saving my bacon

A slice from the ink tube of a biro (a wonderful repository for make do and mend airsoft bits) or similar ought to do the trick :D

Been using biros for years. Definitely a sound option.

If not then outer cable sheath has worked well for me in the past espescially if you use silicone types. Almost exactly the same material as a regular nub.

Outer sheath from 14AWG silicone wire works best as the poor mans alternative, or heatshrinked 16 but they are very soft. Biro's are hard and too small. If you are going down the biro route, then make sure that it is precisely cut.
This is one I removed from a customers gun the other day, it was causing all sorts of issues.
