Melting point of hop rubbers
1 June, 2013, 11:35
More specificly the nineball one, or does anyone know the materials of which any (good brand of) hops are made out of,so i can find the melting point of that material?
tried at 140 C but to no avail. As for anyone who is interested as to why... Was trying to make an improvised (possibly better, you never know) r-hop. Assuming I can manage to melt them down, you would theoretically be able to get 3 or 4 "patches" from an old worn out rubber.

Re: Melting point of hop rubbers
it only costs £10 for 3 proper r-hops... so what is the point?

Re: Melting point of hop rubbers
knowledge mostly, I already own a r-hop, but would like to find a material that would perform in a similar way. Though I dont see why you wouldn't want to be able to potentially make something that could do the same job, just as well with parts that you have lying spare.

Re: Melting point of hop rubbers
I believe that you can use soft silicone tubes to make a rough r-hop by cutting it down
PM me if you're looking for S-ARMS M4 mags

Re: Melting point of hop rubbers
from what i've seen from testing silicone tends to break down after a few hundred shots or so.
