  • G&G CM16v2 - Question about Removing Triangle Sight

I have the new CM16 GBLKv2 which unlike the previous models has a front sight which isn't moulded into the outer barrel and is attached by 2 grub screws which tighten onto the short outer barrel as it protrudes from the RIS.

I have ordered an optic so I want to remove the triangle sight in favour of a flip up RIS ironsight, however once the triangle iron sights are removed, there is no longer a 14mm thread on the outer barrel (just a small slit in the end to align the grub screws. What I want is to fit a suppressor/silencer (fake or real) to the end of this unthreaded outer barrel so it looks a bit nicer without the triangle iron sights. Is it possible to find a suppressor that attaches using grub screws instead of a 14mm thread? I'm just trying to save a few quid as I'd rather not replace the outer barrel just yet!

tl;dr - Is there a way to fit a suppressor/silencer to an un-threaded outer barrel?

Not to my knowledge. G&G do like their maverick ways of making things that screw over people that want to upgrade.

You'd have to get an adapter custom machined.

In that case it probably will be cheaper to just replace the outer barrel, oh well. Its probably worth upgrading to a 1 piece anyway

Wait what? The end of the outer barrel is still attached to the front site?

Honestly, take an angle grinder to it.
