temperamental tracer unit..
17 October, 2013, 10:34
I bought a chinese tracer unit/silencer, and having some problems with it.
It only lights up maybe one in ten of the shots fired. The Uv light is on, and it flashes with every shot, but most of the bbs just wont glow! From a full 90 round mag maybe 10 - 15 will light up
Happens on single and auto, and using a new bottle of Excel .2 tracers through a Marui Scar. The unit has new batteries in.
I wasnt expecting much from it, being cheap and chinese, but im wondering if anyone has come across this before? Any fixes? I was thinking of maybe swapping out the UV leds for some superbright ones
Cheers, Rich

If no good , I would highly reccomend the g &g rechargeable lipo powered tracer unit . Auto shut off. , runs all day and also keeps up with my high cycle guns when required. . Saves a fortune on battery replacement in the long run .

Re: temperamental tracer unit..
not sure if it is a same case.
I sold a madbull one here long time ago.
same as you the buyer told me most of the BBs are not glowing.
Turns out that he mixed the tracer one with the normal BB. (try to save some money?) and when he tests the tracer unit he forgot the replace with tracer BB.

Well, I took it apart, jiggled everything around and rebuilt it, now it seems to work!
Theres a bit of white paper in there to reflect the strobe. I think it had worked its way round and was partially covering the light gate. I guess it was just causing it to not flash every shot.
