Threadlock
12 February, 2014, 14:57
So my PDR-C is suffering from a cold. BAMF will attest to this.
The screw that is holding a trigger plate down keeps coming loose with the huge vibration of firing the damn thing, so after a little while, it gets too loose and won't press the microtrigger down, leaving me with an ornament. XD
So I reckon I need some threadlock for it. So where can I get some from? PM me with details.
Alternatively, would superglue be too adhesive for it, or would that be okay to use?
Any help greatly appreciated. :D

Re: Threadlock
Surely any hardware store (B&Q, Homebase, etc) is going to sell threadlock?
This thread almost got hit with my own bottle of it

Re: Threadlock
First place I would try is your local hardware stores. Car parts places might also be able to help you.
looks like the ideal would be loctite 221 or 222. Those are their low breaking strain ones, which should still hold for your applications, but won't be too tricky to remove when you need to.

Re: Threadlock
Ahhh thanks for that jonny. Before you posted that LMGTFY link, I didn't even think about using a search engine. *sarcasm*
Ahem. Apologies. Allow me to rephrase my question:
Where can I buy threadlock that won't cost me an arm and a leg for what should only be one, small application? :p Small amounts, people.
Or
would
it be viable to use superglue?

Re: Threadlock
Clear nail varnish will work. I have used it and it works perfectly. Only costs a pound or two.

Re: Threadlock
I don't mind spending money on airsoft (hell, if anyone does have a problem with spending money, perhaps they should choose another hobby). XD But the pricing on this stuff is unusual to say the least. Ranging from a tenner to sixty quid for the same quantity of the stuff. This is why I'm confused. :P
Thanks for the tip, Sydewynder.

PTFE tape might do the trick, or a anti vibration washer...

Re: Threadlock
Ptfe tape probably won't do the trick.
You can get a 5ML bottle of loctite 243 (useful general purpose threadlocker) for a fiver.
What size is the screw?
