Help with MP5.
18 February, 2014, 12:36
Hello,
I'm wondering if you can take of the front end of the top receiver and swap for a MP5k front end?
Hoping someone on here has attempted this before and can steer me ion the right direction.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Help with MP5.
I'm not sure you can. I looked at doing this once and spoke to someone with a k variant. But the hop up was in a completely different place, and in the end it wasn't going to work. What are you trying to accomplish? Just a different front end?

Yeah, swap the front end with a K version as I've got a mp5sd in bits.

Looking at my K the cocking tube/barrel is molded as part of the upper.

So unless I wish to get to some chopping it's not a simple swap. Thanks guy!

Re: Help with MP5.
Yup, there's also the issue of where the back end of the handguard fits - MP5 & MP5K bodies are completely different in that area.
MP5 top(Std front above, SD front below), MP5K bottom.

Yep, the standard MP5 is V2 based and the front end can come apart, the MP5K's are V3 based and the upper and front are one piece, and as said the hop chamber is different.
