Not sure what I should do...
9 April, 2010, 12:30
A few weeks ago, I kryloned my M4; The results were disapointing, to say the least.
So I purchased myself a new AGM Full Metal receiver (Somebody will moan about this, its AGM. However very nice quality), a New pistol grip, and Systema Hop up rubber (Only £5. Why not? and if it doesnt work, I'll put the old one in.)
But because my G&G GR-16 has the bowback on top of the version 2 gearbox, I doubt it will fit. I tried putting it on earlier and the blowback system got in the way.
Now, heres the question, Do I...
Remove the blowback off my gearbox and fit it on? (NO IDEA how this is possible)
Sell/Trade my Gearbox for a bog standard V2 Gearbox?
Mod the receiver so the blowback fits? (Risky, I wouldnt feel comfortable with this, but its the best Idea)
Sell all my M4 parts and get myself a new, more straight-forward gun? (Sniper? AEG?)
Buy all the parts and hire someone to put it all together profesionally? (MORE MONEY, I have spent too much already, about £400 on my FIRST AEG.)
I need really in depth advise here, I'm stuck competely.
I really do appreciate anyone who can help

Re: Not sure what I should do...
Both receivers - The one on the left being the metal one.
The metal one has the charging handle and fake bolt on the inside - actually a part of the metal receiver.
Again - Bolt and Charging handle attached to receiver.
Shows this again. The reason why I want the blowback on the M4 is because, as shown here, the Bolt on the Metal receiver looks stupid.
Showing how and why the blowback system gets in the way. and that the piston on top of the gearbox prevents the upper metal receiver to close.
The blowback system. basicly the parts that are getting in the way. Are they removable?

Re: Not sure what I should do...
I'm guessing you arn't legally allowed to have sprayed that IF. So i'd say spray the AGM receiver in a bright colour along with the stock and take off the blowback. As johnnyj said unless it's GBB or TM EBB then the blowback is useless

Re: Not sure what I should do...
I am legally permitted to spray the gun
I am a legit skirmisher - I can provide a defense. Just not UKARA.
And I might just take off the blowback. I just dont know how :L

Re: Not sure what I should do...
Right now thats sorted, i'll try and help. The reason it doesn't fit the AGM body seems to be the charging handle and the grove itself. If you can remove the charging handle and widen the runner that it has, it may with abit of luck work. Failing that get rid of the blowback. Just unscrew all the bits outside of the gearbox that arn't meant to be there. It's phneumatic so it's piston driven by the air. It's not actually connected to your piston. So in theory it should come off without opening the gearbox

Re: Not sure what I should do...
I've removed the charging handle, I cant find any screws with the blowback system.
On the last picture in my post above, There are two screws (Some sort of Hex screws?)
Could they have something to do with it ?

Re: Not sure what I should do...
If it's pneumatic, won't removing it create an air seal problem?
Even if it doesn't, won't the lack of force required to drive the blowback being removed risk increasing the fps?

Re: Not sure what I should do...
The FPS is only 305. If it increases the FPS, to say, 340. I'll be chuffed as a cheesecake
If there was an Air Seal problem, How could we fix it?
Or just get another V2 Gearbox? More straight-forward? Trade this blowback one? Sounds like a plan.
EDIT - I'm not going to remove the blowback yet - If I mess up, I dont have an AEG for tomorrows skirmish - just a springer (As fun as it sounds)
