Re: tan spray paint.
I'm sure somebody with painting experience will answer, but all the good things I have heard are about Krylon. They seem to have discontinued a load, but Khaki is still there, is that does the trick?

Not got a Halfords near you? My local one did a massive selection, for plastic and metal.

No they don't, but if my local Wilkinsons is anything to go by... they'll do a lot better range of sprays.

Re: tan spray paint.
Any plastic bonding spray paint should be fine.
I've found even the worst of plastic model spray paints to be fine as long as you are patient and use a matt clear spray to protect it.
My (personal method):
3-5 light coats of colour
2 coats of clear matt finish
And as Jag is saying, you should do well with a decent sized Halfords.
