IR laser options?
5 December, 2015, 20:48
Can I have some advice on IR lasers please?
I've been looking at the various PEQ options but it seems they either do not have actual ir laser, or the ir laser does not operate on the cable switch the way it ought to.
I can't afford for any visible or ir light to be emitted until the moment I engage. The opfor invariably have NV as well, hence a toggled ir laser is as suicidal as wearing a headtorch.

Re: IR laser options?
Your options are.
Real peq 15- often/pretty much always stolen mod kit at around £1500.
Insight peq- prices vary but seen them from £600-£1000.
Real peq 2a at around £500
Real peq 14 at around£600 (I think)
G&p dbal at around £100
New version of the element la5 at £45
I have the new element la5 and am very happy with it. The laser had a lot of splash so in buildings you don't need an ir light. However it gives out a solid beam so when you put it on its easier to see where you are etc
The ir laser can be worked from the tail switch on a momentary setting or press twice for it to stay on.

Re: IR laser options?
Cheers, I'll go for that la5 then. I'd looked at the ViperWolf at around the £100 mark as well. Seems a pretty option. The element DBAL-EMkII doesn't let the ir laser and pressure switch work the way they ought to. Major design flaw!
Thanks again
