  • TM 1911 and guarder upgrade kit

Ok guys here it is. I have just purchased a nice cheap TM 1911A1. I then bought the full upgrade kit by Guarder for it.

Never having taken a pistol right down to the bare bones I now need some help on building it.

Problem is, I don't have the instructions for the TM pistol so ideally I would need the exploded parts list.

Also if anyone knows of any videos of a disassemble and rebuild of this type of project that would be great too. Or photos of a similar project.

Any help would be greatfully accepted.

Or use google for the guide and is on first page

Re: TM 1911 and guarder upgrade kit

I found the guide, Guard, but the second part of the guide will only play the first 1min 24secs then it locks. Basically, thats the reconstruction of the slide, and it is that bit that is stumping me.

There seems to be a tiny little spring that has popped out of somewhere but there is no reference to it on the guides, almost as if it shouldn't be there.

Speaking to a couple of the guys at The Mall yesterday, they also seem to think it shouldn't be in there. as they have rebuilt TM 1911's before and not seen this spring.

It is only about 3mm long, so ideally would need a look at an exploded diagram to see if it is shown.

Could you put a picture up mate of the spring and will tell you if it goes there

As there are a few small springs when re building it

Re: TM 1911 and guarder upgrade kit

Well. I have reassembled the gun without that little spring and it all works fine. The rear sight has a tiny little bit of movement. So, I suspect that that is what that little spring does. It must give a little bit of tension to the rear sight to stop it moving.

Ok, next thing now. I have fitted the upgraded 150% hammer spring, and that seems to work fine. But if I fit the 150% recoil spring the slide doesn't always return to recock the gun. Fitting the standard spring works fine.

So question is, is there a fix? Or would I need further upgrades to get the 150% spring to work properly?

Probably need to add, I haven't lubed the gun yet, as I have just finished it and test fired a few rounds through. I am about to lube it now.

I don't think that would do too much to help the recoil spring though. I am using green gas to test. It is actually ASG Ultra air.
