VFC 416, converting long barrel to short, easy?

potentially swapping for a long barrel version of one of these, but preffered the cqb, how hard is this to impliment? bearing in mind im a bit of a tech mong.

Yes you buy a short inner barrel, put the hop up unit on the end and install it. Then take off the outer barrel extention and screw the flash hider on. And there you have a ten inch 416.

you need a new outer barrel and you will have to cut your current inner barrel short to match with your new outer barrel. Either way you can buy shorter inner barrel if you are not bother to cut your old one

He dosnt need a new outer barrel, the extention from the gas block should twist of to reveal a thread for the flash hider.

sounds easy, probably needs a tighter barrel anyhoo. so the extension on the gun is multi part so no need to buy an outer barrel jamie?

Yup it's a two part outer barrel so the extention that covers the rest of the inner barrel should just twist of. Then put the flash hider on the thread and your sorted.

mong question time- so i wil have a 10 inch 416 but exactly what length inner barrel do i get, is it longer inside??

If your getting a long version it will have the long inner barrel. You will need to find a CQB m4 length inner barrel to make it into the ten inch gun. Otherwise you will have about 4.5 inches of inner berrel sticking out the flash hider.

I also purchased a new hop unit to go with the new inner barrel on mine. Trust me Jock, especially if you're a tech mong (lol) its much easier to pop a new barrel PLUS pre-attached hop than it is doing a hot swap with the existing hop unit in the field etc.

How much of a tech mong must you be to not be able to swap out a hop unit?

Step 1. Put hop rubber on new inner barrel.

Step 2. Remove hop unit from from current inner barrel.

Step 3. Check to make sure the hop nub/bucking is in place, insert the new inner barrel into the hop unit.

And bam, sorted
