problem with front pin for a sig 552

hey all im looking for a little help with the front pin that holds the fore grip together on the sig 552 i have a photo of it and i need to know how the little piece of metal goes into the pin as i have tried it and seems to go together but you have to unscrew it to get it back out of the grip which im sure is'nt right.plus is that the way its suppose to look as i think it may be out of shape a little anyway thanks for all replys in advance.

Taken mine apart just now,

You metal piece looks a bit out of shape..

Also it appears the threaded end of the screw should be tightly clamped together,

Also the metal wire type things stick out 1.5mm each end on mine
