Re: cheap laser fix help
Do you have access to a circuit tester?
When mine broke, it turned out to be a loose wire in the end cap and not the switch as such. You need to find some way of checking if the switch is closing the circuit or not.

Re: cheap laser fix help
probably a broken wire, alot of pressure pads dont use a switch just two flimsy metal plates separated by a thin strip of foam with large holes in it so when pressed the two plates touch.
to repair just cut of the old heat shrink resolder and re shrink it afterwards

all the pressure pads ive had/seen have been little button switches but maybe is different with cheaper ones?

sounds like an odd case of the actual diode dieing, if the batteries are ok, and your still not getting a light when you touch the wires, it suggests that this is the case.

Re: cheap laser fix help
The wires are very thin and easily detatched where they enter the back, even overtightening cable ties to hold the wire in place can pull them out as I found out.....

Re: cheap laser fix help
yes re soldering like mentioned above is definately worth a try as poor wiring tends to be common with lower price chinese goods
