  • Advise on NiMH battery and discharge

    Hi guys,

I bought the other day a new charger/discharger and a NiMH battery.
The instructions states only NiCd batteries need discharge.
I always thought that NiMH make some "memory" too and therefore need discharging before charging.
So what's the best practice with NiMH batteries can i top up them anytime? No need to discharge them?

    Thanks

    Marco

Well after X amount of charges I do a charge and discharge cycle. IMO it makes them run better and makes them last longer.

So let's say once a month do a discharge and then a full charge.

I used to discharge with devices like the marui one. There was no indication of voltage as far as i can remember.

With ni-mh it is best to condition them once out of every 4 times they are used (Depends just do it every couple of months)

Do a charge/discharge cycle 3 times, at least that's what most smart chargers do that have the option.
