Battery Charging 'Speed'

I've got a smart charger here that can charge at 500mah or 1,000mah.

So far i've been using 500mah on my 1,100mah(backup battery) & 1,500mah's capacities. Which takes obviously around 2 or 3 hours.

Is there any harm in charging these quicker at 1,000mah?

They are all 7 cells Ni-MHs.
