Help Fixing A Laser
2 January, 2011, 00:53
Hey guys,
Got a laser here, the wiring broke on the pressure pad, but thats good, because I dont like pressure pads stuck to my guns.
What I do have available is a torch end, that has an on off button on it. What Id like to do, is change simply screw the on off end into the back of the laser, and have it as a closed unit with no wires all over the place.
problem is, the thread is ever so slightly larger than the hole in the laser.
Any ideas?

Re: Help Fixing A Laser
well the threading is your first problem, second is that buttons and switches for lasers/torches do not like to be swapped around, ive had lasers that are identical models and just different colours and not having interchangable button!

Re: Help Fixing A Laser
well, i can stick it in the end far enough for the spring to touch the batteries, and it does the job very well :D so seems like itll be a perfect swap over, but just need to get it to go in the hole!

Re: Help Fixing A Laser
The laser isnt gonna have any room to have parts cut, its a very thin item as it is, and the walls of the battery compartment are probably less than 1mm thick.
The screw in button, has a thread thats the whole width of the lasers diameter. So the thread actually extends out past the lasers walls.
I do have the screw in end for the pressure button. Anyone have any idea how to open the two up and perhaps swap the electics or something?

Looking at it again, the thread inside the laser probably could be drilled wider! Here are the pictures anyway!
Laser...
The original end
My new end with button
Comparison of the two...
And trying to thread the new end into the laser...
