M1A1 bazooka help please

ok, may seem a little strange but im making an m1a1 bazooka which will be made to fire either 40mms or ball grenades.
the bit i need help with is marked in black



the help i need is, what the hell do i make it out of? metal is out of the question as i have no lathe of any tools of that sort, unless there is a place that sells metal rings of about 200mm.

will need to be 200mm diametre of the ring but the metal will need to be diametre around 10mm, and made out of tough metal if poss please mate.

if not then i had an ida of taking the top off a paint tin and doing some **** with that

I can turn something up at work for you if you want?
There will be a small cost, and it depends what you want it made out of?
Inconel, titanium, aluminium, steel, magnesium?

I'll have a go mate, just got a load of 10mm steel rod, so will have a crack at it in the next couple of days...is it just the ring you want? or the connector bits welded on too?

i'm not about to say what would work but what might work. there might be a stand base, or a light cover, or even a part of a heavy duty mechinery that would do

well, explain airsoft mortars? and its going to use a catapult mech in it.

sam thanks for the offer if you could weld the connectors onto it that'd be dandy, i tihnk were looking at having about 8 connectors on.

I assume the problem you're raising is if you intend to launch a pyro rather than just making a huge M203 firing a something like a nerf?

Yeah, ball grenades are pyros, and the OP said he was going to fire them. As for 40mm, I'm not sure he meant firing the BBs from them or actually launching them?

y would anyone launch a 40mm gas grenade:S best plan is to use 40mm grenades to keep it simple tbh and as for the metal ring wat about the rings off curtain rails:D ther strong
