Flat hop durability?
3 February, 2012, 08:18
Hi, so upgrading my m14 to 450fps and want to get some decent range out of this thing, cant be bothered with an R-hop atm, so i was wonder, if i did flat hop mod it, how long would it last on this fps? Also, would i just be better getting just a stock TM bucking?
thanks

Re: Flat hop durability?
Try an R-Hop - google it. AFAIK, no one has worn one out yet, although they are relatively new. Also, they're easier to tune for heavier rounds - .2s are very difficult, .25s slightly less so. .3 and up is recommended.
And for your own sake don't ask for spoon feeding about it... There is a vast amount of information on a certain forum about this (the home forum of the creator of it - I can't remember if we can name other forums, so playing it safe.) so you're very unlikely to have something new that isn't covered by it.
EDIT: I'm an idiot for not fully reading the post. However, an R-Hop would be better. Also, HS5 has made a "R-Hop Z-Kit" which is a pre-sized R-Hop. Various depths, just have to cut to length.
