replace those stock screws!! lesson learnt.
11 May, 2012, 10:55
recently bought a VSR clone and decided on some DIY mods (teflon tape). BTW: i'm very impressed with build quality and constistency of shots.
I used a 3/32 hex bit, which I now realise is the wrong size and it rounded off one of the screws pretty quick. *I think the correct size is metric 2.5mm hex.
Anyway i grabbed my dremel and after some drilling and grinding decided to use a tiny cutting disk to make a groove. Worked a treat for a large slotted screwdriver.
I've ordered some stainless steel replacements from the bay and went with the POSI head. I hope the head is not too big otherwise i'll have to revert back to Hex.
{Sizes: M5 x 30mm and M5 x 16mm}
end result:
I've ordered a load of upgrade parts already (sears, piston, etc). Went with a M145 spring which i now realise may be too hot, so will probably pick-up a M125 or SP130.
