Starter spring sniper rifle project gun

Hi all,
I already have a nice but heavy....and slightly complicated AW338 gas rifle but I'm looking to start a project gun based around something lighter and spring powered.

I was wondering if anyone could give me a basic guide (or point me in the direction of one) that can tell me about the whole VSR/Bar 10 rifle systems.

I'm ideally looking to buy a modestly priced base gun and spend some time improving its accuracy and range. Can anyone suggest something thats I'd suitable for upgrades without being extortionately priced.

Well either a marui VSR or JG Bar 10.
And google is your friend as we cant post other forums, infact search here, im sure youll find something.

VSR-10 and a load of DIY modifications, e.g. flat hop arm, barrel spacer, 100% air seal and shimmed hop up unit etc.

Air seal - less air escaping, resulting in more fps so you can use heavier ammo.
Hop up unit modifications result in tighter groupings as the hop up is more consistent.
barrel spacer will also improve consistencies as there is less vibrations.

A good thing about VSR rifles is that you find a lot more upgrades and more availability of parts
