Nineball Hop Bucking
2 November, 2012, 22:12
Has anyone got a relatively new Nineball purple hop bucking? If so, would you mind posting a photo of the inside? I've just installed mine and have noticed a drastic reduction in consistency. I've got a PSS10 120 and 150 spring, and accuracy has suffered when using both.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Nineball Hop Bucking
Hi, I put one in my VSR. The fps went up and shots where very consistent over the chrono on fps but accuracy was poor. I have a Danger Worx arm in the hop unit. Put a Marui rubber back in and fps went down by about 40 fps, didn't seal as well but accuracy came back. Try the Marui one with 0.29 Maruzen super grand masters. Very expensive but by Christ are they good.

Thanks, I'll try that. I'm still
confused though. I've only heard
good things about them. When I
looked through mine, there was no
nub in the top, and the inside was
not as cleanly moulded as the TM
one.

Re: Nineball Hop Bucking
I have one being delivered, expected delivery between 10-20 days...
Try wrapping it in PTFE tape to make a tighter air seal.

Thanks, I might try that. Although when I say consistency, I don't mean in terms of power, I mean accuracy. I thought my old hop was wearing out, as it was struggling to lift .28s. Would I be better off getting a harder hop rubber at around 420 fps? I haven't done the biro mod yet. Would that do, with the stock hop bucking?

You'll probably find its the cold. My pistol literally halved its range yesterday with a nine ball rubber. Bring the rifle inside, and actively heat the hop unit

Re: Nineball Hop Bucking
a friend of my has just bought one and found his shots were all over the place. Didn't get to the bottom of it but i think's now trying a firefly bucking.

Could you tell me how it compares when he gets it please? Has he bought the hard or soft firefly bucking?

Re: Nineball Hop Bucking
From what I've heard Nineball should be much more consistant... I hope it's better than the TM bucking or I've wasted some money! :P

Re: Nineball Hop Bucking
Hi guys, unfortunately all three of us have wasted our money on them. It seals around the air nozzle really well. I din't have to do the tape around job either. Just such a shame the accuracy was poo. I tried it in my TM Glock 17, crap again so I through the nasty little purple thing in the bin. Stick with the Marui ones guys.

That's a shame. Do you think they are returnable? I've only had mine for a week.
