Re: Sniper Upgrades (based on a VSR) and Further Guide
It's only "based on a VSR" bud, I meant it for all bolt action spring rifles (except for maybe KAR's etc).
"A very effective sound reducer is filling the butt side of your stock with expanding foam, and wrapping your trigger and filling the rest of your stock (most empty space) with ‘Dynamat’ or other vibration/sound reducing foam/material."
The only difference to this, is that you will need to cover all holes but one or two when filling the stock with foam.
Filling the space between the inner and outer barrel with foam is a good idea, it wont do a lot, but it will do some. Really, barrel spacers would do a lot more though.
Also, people have DIY's sound dampening pads for L96 cylinders before, do a little research (ASR).
Hope that helps,
Alex

Re: Sniper Upgrades (based on a VSR) and Further Guide
Really, you need more barrel spacers e.g. I have 6 PDI barrel spacer in my VSR, and they made a HUGE difference (along with a bull barrel) for sound suppression. Silencers and silencer adaptors don't cost that much either, you could DIY one (I did for a UTG M324)...
As for the space in the stock, you really should take it apart to have a look (It's not very hard). I decided to take the weights out of mine.

Re: Sniper Upgrades (based on a VSR) and Further Guide
Hmmmm... Look at a 6.01 if I was you, maybe an EdGI barrel. It'll up your fps by around 30, and EdGI are VERY good.
I can't think of any other "tinkering" you could do, sorry mate...
If something comes to mind I'll be sure to PM you. Ask any questions you like in the mean time.

Re: Sniper Upgrades (based on a VSR) and Further Guide
Not worth going into the silencer bud, you wont see much difference at all.
You'll need a 509mm I believe, but you should check that out.
I reckon you could use a PSS-10 damper pad maybe, check out ASR as they are quite far ahead with stuff like that...

Re: Sniper Upgrades (based on a VSR) and Further Guide
What barrel did you go for in the end?
Barrel spacers- It depends if you feel confident enough to make your own. But if you have the spare cash, unless you are very good with DIY, I'd go for a set of 4-6 PDI Barrel Spacers.
When you take it apart, make sure you give it a good clean EVERYWHERE - all of that is answered by an earlier post.
PTFE Tape - Wrap that around the thread of the cylinder head, I'd say between 4-7 times.
As for buffing the cylinder head, as long as you leave no residue etc behind, then he can't be bad for it, but I doubt you'll see much improvement. If you have the knowledge/skills for the metal work, you could taper the cylinder head. I know a few people who have had very good results from that.
Hope that helps, hope I answered those Q's well enough,
Alex (mj23lj)

Re: Sniper Upgrades (based on a VSR) and Further Guide
You wont be dissapointed with an EdGI TB.
Tapering wise - wider towards the bottom, thinner towards the head / nozzle - If I was you, I would make sure I research this well before doing it though. I think I recall 'dope_on_a_rope' tapering a cylinder head in the past, try PM'ing him, he is very helpful.
"im thinkin of customizing plastic and o rings or out of rubber" - sorry didn't quite catch what said there?

Re: Sniper Upgrades (based on a VSR) and Further Guide
Ahhh, I see, if you have the confidence to, then I'd say make one long one the whole length of the barrel if you can. It should be as tight as possible inside the outer barrel, and very snugg around the inner barrel, if you have rubber then that would be perfect.
