Piston compatibility with wider springs in snipers
7 August, 2010, 11:42
I recently bought a PDI spring, the 140, but didnt realise it would require a new piston as well, as the spring diameter is 9mm, the stock spring is 7mm. This means it doesnt fit inside the piston as it should do.
Is the PDI piston the only one available that is compatible with this spring? The PDI spring is a full £10 more than most other custom pistons, but none of the online retailers have enough information available to find out whether they would work or not.
On another note, retailers seriously need to start putting information with their products. The whole reason im having to place another potentially expensive order is due to lack of information in the first place. grrr.

Total bull mate
As the element three stage piston allows 10mm springs to be used
So the element three stage piston for the aps-2 WILL fit and work mate

Re: Piston compatibility with wider springs in snipers
Sorry, total bumface, but when i posted this thread I had the wrong damned spring in my hand! the spring in question is actually 13mm in diameter. On the box it says "The outer Dia is larger than normal one so please use with PDI Piston" It says elsewhere on the box that the spring is 13mm internal diameter. Sorry!

Not on about you mate. And I know the normal l96 piston is 7mm not 9mm
Saying bull to other poSter saying laylax one only
For half the price the element piston will work and will be perfect

haha i know dont worry, the bumface was a self insult lol.
The element piston will work with a 13mm spring then? Having trouble finding pistons that are clearly marked as compatible, a few websites say that the PSS2 range of internals will work, but some sites say that they are for the APS2, which is more like a VSR (on the outside at least)
Are the APS2 and L96 parts nearly identical inside?

thats great mate thanks for that. Havent really looked on here a whole lot at sniper parts, its a lot to trawl through to find what I need! Have checked out the major shops here, one in canada, and a couple in hong kong, and got some conflicting information which is why I wasnt sure.
