hi guys i just got my first sniper rifle, a second hand maruzen l96 (£120? is that good?) the guy told me it is standard gun which shoots 320fps the site i use is 500pfs sooooo what spring do i need to get and will i need stronger internals to take the extra power?? ive got a very small budget so basicly whats the highest fps i can get for less than £50 or so.....cheers
iam quite new to upgrading so you might have to spell it out for me.....

Re: spring choice? l96 maruzen...
i would purchase the spring last,
i have a first factory purple piston with red cap, laylax spring guide
those alone new = more than £50 but there is nothing wrong with 2nd hand if you can get them un damaged.
so get those parts first then a spring.
you trigger sears could also go due to high fps but mines still ok atm at 470+
gd luck

Re: spring choice? l96 maruzen...
not allowed to mention sites cos iel get bummed by the mods.
zero one sell it all though.
and yes anything over 450 fps can cause damage but atm mines working fine with a stock trigger mech for now.
you can bu a zero trigger for £105
iel buy a new trigger mech once my current one breaks.

Re: spring choice? l96 maruzen...
The thick/thin spring guides depend on whether your spring has a large or thin diameter.
Not sure on exact measurements, But I think you will find the stronger springs have a larger diameter.

Re: spring choice? l96 maruzen...
I ran my L96 with just the inner barrel , piston and head , spring guide and a 150 9mm spring for 2 years on the standard trigger with no problems ,
BUT i will say a 150 spring will or should yeld around 560 fps so you would need to clip a coil or two off it

Re: spring choice? l96 maruzen...
Do you think I could get away with changing piston, piston head, spring guide and spring for 130/140? I want to do the barrel later when I have more money (better barrel). I also want spacers as mine came without any and i'm sure the inner barrel is moving about. What do ya reckon?
