True, it does give away your position but there again it simulates real combat because a real assault rifle would give off a flash and seriously give you away.
Imagine a firefight where everyone had to have 1 tracer bb in every 5- that would be a virtual fireworks show!
It is a load fun when more than one player on each side is using tracer. I have only been involved in one airsoft firefight when several on each side was using tracer.

We sort of did that. It was dark at the end of skirmish day. I shone my car headlights onto aeviv, and then shot him with the revolver launcher, 6 times. The headlights lit up the rounds as they hit him. Lots of laughs.

That would be freaking awesome! Could probably Modd a G36 or SA80 one up as there lots of unused space in the top hangaurd.

You can use an M4 tracer mag with a minimi- shock and awe for short time.
I guess it would be quite easy to install UV LEDS in the box mag....now where's that Maplin Electronics store....

Re: Tracer units and Tracer bb's
Anyone noticed that if you use standard BB's with tracer units, you get a muzzle flash if looking straight down the barrel?!
... I noticed this by infact, being shot by a guy who had done just that! Was like "oh that looks cool" Then followed by the classic "Oww F!@k ...Hit!!" heh!

Let's know if you manage to rig something up.

Will be quite a spectacle if you got m203's and Support weapons with silly ROF on tracers, now all we need are 51mm mortars and illume rounds lol

Stirling Airsoft have morters with effective awsome range- I think they might actually be 50mm or so!
