It doesn't matter, just because they're made in the same way as a real AK doesn't make them as nice as a real AK. Bare in mind that the real AK has totally different internals, the Real Sword under folding stock was no where near as good as the one on my LCT AKMS. I've got 4 LCTs now, AKMS, AKM, AK105 and AMD-65. They're brilliant guns.

Woah son, you're forgetting LCT.
Sorry! Completely forgot about LCT! I'd have to agree with you there, their externals are unrivaled.

Re: New AK
LCT are basically Innokatsu AKs with the LCT internals.

Re: New AK
Thanks guys, it's good to see that there are still some nice and helpful members here, unlike a couple of others I've run into lately.....
Anyway, Cyma is top of my price range at the moment so that's what I'll be looking at. It's still good to know what people think about the higher end stuff.

Re: New AK
but do they feel as nice to shoot as a marui recoil?
in my most humble opinion, reliability, range and accuracy can be improved with upgrades but its the recoil that makes the gun fun to shoot.

Re: New AK
I didn't even think about the recoil model, but it's too much for me at the moment. I'm nearly there for a Cyma, so I'll save up a tiny bit more and grab one.
Thanks for the idea Madman.

Yes, it's not all about recoil. An LCT (and I gurantee this) will last longer than a TM Recoil AK. The LCT guns are made with
VERY
good parts, with decent parts and proper finishes on them. Add to that the trigger response on an LCT is absoluteness amazing (a small pull and an instantaneous response). Bearing in mind they're similar priced, I'd go with an LCT simply because the parts for it are more readily available and much easier to do thanks to the nice V3 gearbox.
Plus on the TM AK-74M, you can only fit a smallish battery in the handguard. An LCT equivalent can either fit a 2200 mah stick battery on the folding stock model or a 5000 mah + in the non stock folding model. I'd go for LCT simply because it feels like the real thing.

Re: New AK
I picked up a recoil model at an airsoft store, I had to ask what the make was though because I couldn't believe it was a TM recoil model. It creaked, it felt flimsy, and unlike my LCTs I was confident that if I dropped it from a few feet it wouldn't survive.

I've got a Cyma AK EBB, and it's lovely. Plus it makes a very distinctive sound which people recognise all over the shop
"Someone please get this muppet some skills!"
