What aeg?

Hi guys so I'm gonna be getting an aeg soon, I'm torn between M4 (make?? Which one??) or MP5 SD6 (again which make??) I really do like the m4 due to its diversity but I really want the sd6 for my first choice... My problem is I really would like the range from the m4 on the sd6! My question is what upgrades can I do to increase range on the SD? FPS needs to not exceed 370? Anyone does this b4 and can tell me the best way round this? And what makes should I be looking for, for both m4 & mp5? I just prefer the mp5 due to its SAS/british background! (I no seals use them too but u get my drift) many thanx

Ah, the old variation on "Wat am best M4?" thread.

Simple answer, if you like the MP5SD, get a TM. It will have sufficient range for your requirements without the need for expensive "upgrades" out of the box. An airsoft gun is an airsoft gun I'm glad to say. An M4 has no greater range than any other gun. It depends on what the internals are like

TM are pretty good for range as standard.

I would use whatever you get first and upgrade later as the need arises. Would not bother with costly upgrades when at 1st they are not needed. You may not like your choice and decide to sell it.

I agree though go with a TM for the SD6 and a G&P for the M4.

Have you had a chance to try both types of gun? I really loved the look of the MP5 SD6's and got myself a CYMA one, it was a great gun and performed well but how I had to position my hand on the front grip really played up an old injury in my wrist.

M4s - I have had a few different ones and been lucky not to have issues with any of them (JG, G&P, King Arms, Magpul PTS)

MP5s - I have had two CYMA's one SD6, and a PDW both where great guns and I would always recommend them to people.

The only reason I didn't want a TM one was the fact that they are manufactured in plastic if I'm not mistaken and was worried about durability (I.e awkward fall resulting in a breakage) but I don't really no that much was just hoping for a full metal to add to realism and durability. However I would consider upgrading to metal receivers later on. Thanks for the response gents so to sum up a TM mp5 would fire with good range outta the box?

Yes. If you do want a metal receiver, King Arms do a metal M4A1, im sure you can get G&P ones aswell. As for the MP5 i've only ever seen plastic ABS ones but they are durable.

Buy one with a metal receiver to start with, the only aftermarket ones worth getting are very expensive, it's much cheaper in the long run and a lot less hassle. I like ICS but if you're on a budget Cyma take some beating for value.

There is no need to worry about the "plastic" as it is a well respected make due to its out of the box practicality. TM offer a very nice range of rifles and don't doubt it just because its made of high quality plastic.

Yeah @ mtbflyfisher....I was thinking of ics mp5 sd6 aswell tbh. I just want to be able to use the mp5 for a variety of enviroments, I no the primary role 4 the mp5 is CQB, but with them both only firing the same 6mm bb's as apposed to 9mm for mp5 and 5.56 for the m4 in real steel, it shouldn't really matter what the weapon is used for in real life as the ammunition dictates the weapons capability. how many 9mm sniper rifles can u name??

Orite smart arse lol! But u get what I mean don't u nearly all AEG's if not all airsoft fire 6mm so I should be able to increase range regardless what role the weapon plays in the real world shouldn't I??

Yes, my m4 ICS CQB 29 has a short barrel and no stock which purists hate but it fires as far and accurate as the next gun. I wouldn't swap it for anything else. It cost me £205 and comes with 2 mags. I bought a folding stock ICS folding stock for £15 on here just in case I fancy trying it but I haven't bothered yet. The battery box it came with takes a 7.4v Lipo 2600mah which should last all day.

Really guys thanks for the response. My local site sells AEG's but I don't think the majority of them are high end brands! But this brings me to another question. Is there any thread that dictates a kind of "top 10 brands" or anything?? The aeg I have in mind is the GSG 522 IS(intergrated silencer) it looks more or less the same as an mp5 sd6 but why is it not labelled as such? And they sell the COLT M4A1 Ris, same kinda question? I just don't understand the "ranks" of maufacturers I no that colt make the m4 like but it's airsoft not a real rifle.. And I understand that personal preference plays some kinda role.
