Re: New to airsoft need some advice

i just read somewhere here on this thread that apparantly buying 2 tone guns is going to kill airsoft?!? if anything its going to strengthen our sport, some people dont like the uglyness of 2 tones, but get over it! its not bloody real warefare =p ! LOL, sorry, i hate the whole 2 tone thing too tbh, but if it has to be, it has to be.

But yeah as someone mentioned, go for an AEG as a 1st purchase, a sniper rif is something to consider after youve been a few times and got a good grasp of the game that is airsoft.
I apologize for anything that might pxss you off

How in the hell will two-tones strengthen the sport!? if a goverment official shows up at a game and sees a bunch of kids running arround with two-tones all that will be said is "well you said you need RIF's to play the sport but those two tones work just aswell, ok no more RIF's everyone now has to use two-tone" end of airsoft as we know it.

Guess you know nothing of Airsoft's specific defence against the VCRA, and how it was won then? Surprising, considering the amount of times it's been mentioned on this very forum recently...

Re: New to airsoft need some advice

Christ here we go again. Two tones will wreck the hobby. 80% or so of guys into Airsofting do it for the realism of the weapons. If not then we would be going paintballing instead. I hate paintballing so if I was forced to use 2 tone then I would stop altogether. Retailers wouldn't have my 3-4 grand a year in new guns and accessories. I am a small fish compared to some. Many UK retailers would go under, as there wouldnt be the demand for guns. There are many other outlets for the foreign manufacturers too. Do you think they would change manufacturing processes to cater for our 4 or 5% of their turnover. They would drop us like a stone. yes they make a small amount of 2tones but it is a drop in the ocean compared to their world wide turnover of RIF's. They would just switch markets, not switch products.

or if u have two-tone, get some tape, and put it on while you are there, and take it off when u go home - thats what im going to do, as theres no way i can get a none two-tone, even though id love to.

Re: New to airsoft need some advice

Seriously, is this the place for the debate.

There are loads more threads where this kind of debate is on topic, I'd suggest if you want to post on here, offering some advice, rather than turning it into a two tone hate thread, the vast majority know what the issues are, repeating our opposition to them on here won't make the problem go away.

In summary, I think most people reckon JG or a CA sportline to start off with, once you're registered, the front runner probabally being the JG G36c. A sniper, albeit cool, is going to be a poor choice as a first weapon.

If is your personal choice to either rent, or go two tone, I can see the pros and cons with each.

If you do go two tone, then skirmish, then tape/scrim it up, both for the legal reasoning mentioned here, and simply so it looks better/offends less people.
