      This. I stripped the paint off a receiver and couldn't paint it more than a couple layers before a game the next day , the black wore in the realistic areas only really.
      I'd say do what Caveira has suggested.

        I did this to a cheap plastic AK mag today as a practice. OD base coat and then black smudged across with a sponge. then used a sanding block to rub paint off. Used halfords OD and black spray and it took about 15 mins from start to end result.
